Los Angeles bathroom tile remodel guide
Costs, materials and what LA homeowners need to know before a remodel.
Bathrooms & Showers
Shower walls and floors, tub surrounds, niches, benches and bathroom floors in porcelain, ceramic, glass, mosaic and natural stone, installed by our own crew across Greater Los Angeles.
Why the Prep Matters
Tile and grout do not keep water out on their own. Water moves through grout lines, so what protects the wall framing is the waterproofing layer behind the tile and the slope of the shower pan under it. When that layer is skipped or rushed, the problem shows up months later as loose tile, a musty smell or a stain on the ceiling below.
We treat that prep as the main part of the job. Walls are checked for flat and plumb, the pan is sloped to the drain, and the waterproofing goes on before the first tile is set. Then comes the part you see every day: a layout centered on the niche and the valve, clean cuts around fixtures and grout lines that stay straight from floor to ceiling.
Every bathroom is handled in-house by the same team that has been installing tile in Los Angeles since 2008. We do not hand your shower to a subcontractor.

What We Install
Our Process
We look at the bathroom, talk through layout, tile and budget, and send you a written estimate.
Old tile comes out, walls and floor are checked and corrected, and the shower pan is shaped to the drain.
The membrane goes on walls, pan, niches and bench, with corners and seams reinforced, and the pan is water tested.
Tile is set to the agreed layout, grouted, sealed where the material needs it, and we walk the finished room with you.
Materials
Most tile can go in a bathroom when it is installed right. These are the materials we install most often in Los Angeles bathrooms.
Dense, low-absorption and easy to clean. Large-format porcelain gives shower walls fewer grout lines; on floors, pick a textured finish for grip.
Marble, travertine and limestone look warm and timeless but are porous and react to acidic cleaners. They need sealing and gentle care.
Good for niches, accent strips and shower floors, where small tiles follow the slope to the drain and add grout lines for traction.
Questions
It depends on the size of the room, the tile and what is behind the old tile. A shower needs time for the pan, the waterproofing and its test before tile goes on, so plan on more than a few days for a full shower. We give you a schedule with the written estimate.
Yes. Every tiled wet area gets a waterproofing layer behind the tile, with reinforced corners and seams, and the shower pan is water tested before tile is set.
Yes. Large panels need flat walls and the right mortar, and the shower floor needs a layout that keeps the slope to the drain, which is why many large-format showers pair big wall tile with a smaller floor tile or a linear drain.
No. Every installation is handled in-house by our own crew, from tear-out to the final walkthrough.
Price depends on the tile, the square footage, the prep and the details like niches and benches. Our Los Angeles bathroom tile remodel guide breaks down what moves the number, and we give you a written estimate after we see the room.
